COLONIE -- Highlighted by a Julio Zorrilla grand slam, the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs opened a three-game homestand with a convincing 10-2 victory over the New Jersey Jackals on Tuesday night at Heritage Park.
The victory puts the Dogs one game over .500 and coupled with an Adirondack loss, in sole possession of first place in the North Division of the Northern League.
Zorrilla's grand slam, the first in his career, traveled well over the right-field fence 325 feet from home plate giving the Dog's a 5-1 lead after two innings.
