Qld: Union wants regional hospital jobs saved
A Queensland health union has begun a campaign over an administrative shake-up of non-nursing
jobs in regional hospitals in Queensland.
The Australian Services Union will meet parliamentary secretary to the Minister for
Health, LINDY NELSON CARR in Toowoomba today to discuss concerns jobs could be lost in
the shake-up.
ASU branch secretary JULIE BIGNELL says the union is concerned about the government's
shared services initiative.
The initiative will centralise and standardise processes and staff relating to corporate
services, in an attempt to reduce costs.
Ms BIGNELL says the union wants government assurances that no jobs will be lost.
