Fed: Woomera scaled down, Curtin mothballed
SYDNEY, April 11 AAP - The Woomera detention centre will be scaled down and the Curtincentre mothballed as part of a long-term federal government plan for Australia's immigrationfacilities.
Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock made the announcement today following a reviewof Australia's immigration detention centres.
The government plan developed from the review included the scaling down of Woomera,in South Australia, and the mothballing of West Australia's Curtin facility, Mr Ruddocksaid in a statement.
