Sweeney touts anti-war mom's support; Woman who lost son Pfc. Nathan Brown in Iraq appears in new TV ad.(Capital Region)

ALBANY - Kathy Brown, a registered Democrat, Glens Falls native and Gold Star mother, vehemently opposes President Bush and the Iraq war, to which she lost her son, Pfc. Nathan Brown, on Easter Sunday in 2004.

But in the 20th Congressional District election this fall, Kathy Brown says she's voting for U.S. Rep. John Sweeney, R-Clifton Park, even though he voted in favor of the war and continues to back Bush's "stay the course" approach in Iraq.

Kathy Brown publicly declares her support of Sweeney in a new television advertisement that will begin airing districtwide this afternoon and is scheduled to run for a week.
